The Green Challenge/Grapefruit Strawberry Juice

The Green Challenge came about by a desire to see just what the body can do when fueled properly.  While coaching the Master Cleanse, I was on a juice fast.  Not just any juice fast, a have “green” in everything juice fast.  You see, I was in the Mediterranean working when a co-worker saw that my neck had a large growth on it.  Very large.  She diagnosed it as a thyroid condition.  I had never noticed this lump on my neck but when she pointed it out, I decided I needed to act fast.  I decided to put myself on The Green Challenge.  So while coaching my October Master Cleanse class, I announced to them that I would be on an indefinite juice fast.   It worked so well, the idea spilled over into my meal plan when I returned to the land of “food.”  The theory, What if you added greens in every meal, breakfast lunch and dinner? That is what I have been doing and the health benefits have been amazing for me!  The lump on my neck dissolved in about 30 days and my blood pressure dropped about 30 points!!  This has been a great experiment.  I do not recommend what I did, however it is my body and my decision for me.  I love to push the body, health wise and see what it will do.

The Beauty of Spinach is it has a mild flavor so that you can “hide” it just about anywhere, including orange juice!  You don’t believe me?  I have been shooting Green Challenge videos of stashing spinach in Orange Juice and even though the juice is green, it still tastes JUST like orange juice!

In this video, I was in a hurry, about to teach class and had 5 minutes to make a juice and jump on the webinar.  Just a handful of spinach brought the nutrients way up without adding a bitter taste to my juice.

Grapefruit Strawberry Green Juice

  • 2 Grapefruit
  • 3 Apples
  • Handful of Spinach
  • 5 or 6 strawberries
  • 1 scoop of chia seeds

Juice grapefruit, apples and spinach.  Pour juice into blender and stir in strawberries and chia seeds.  Refreshing!!
